Help us and Vote to help change America one sweet smile at a time!

Slice of Delight is working to pair up with Icing Smiles, Inc. to creating wonderful cakes for critically ill kids and their families. This is a wonderful organization that is currently trying to expand so bakers of all backgrounds, professional and amateur and volunteers can work together to make a child smile on his or her special day.

In order for Icing Smiles, Inc. to make this happen and expand to areas such as where Slice of Delight is located, it is hoping to win the grant of $25,000 from the Pepsi Refresh Project, in working toward changing America!

Please vote everyday at the link above and forward the information on to friends, families, facebook, twitter and even create a widget to help make Icing Smiles, Inc. #1 !!

Lets work together and give the gift of an Icing Smile to a family in need!

Voting ends August 31st!

Educators Appreciation Week!

This Friday is the start of Educators Appreciation Week March 19th - 27th.

So in Honor of the many educators who teach our kids, dedicated themselves to higher learning and survive through the many budget cuts and layoffs, I am going to bake special cakes for the teachers at my kids school. If possible I will try to raise money to donate to these teachers to enable them to supply their classrooms which will allow them to have the resources needed to teach our kids!

If you would like to donate a cake or monetary funds to these teachers I will be setting up a pay-pal account and post more information on by blog and Facebook Fan page with more information soon!

Back at work!

After a two week break from Cakes, I'm back in the kitchen!

Just finished a Thank You cake for the Fire Department across the street ordered by a co-worker and I'm working on a seemingly very difficult Transformer Bumblebee cake tonight.

Difficult because I honestly didn't know how to go about all of the many details but after sketching it out last night, I'm feeling good about how the end result will be!

Stay tuned for pictures!

Business Cards are IN!

I received my business cards in the mail yesterday and I'm quite happy with how they look!

Finally, I can pass out some cards and generate more business! For those not in my immediate area, here is a preview of what I designed :)

the saying on the back at the top is in french and the translation reads;

Made with love

and

butter/flour/eggs/sugar

the saying at the bottom reads:

Delight is the art of dividing a cake in such a way that everyone

believes he has the biggest piece.

Follow me here too!!!

You can also follow my personal blog!

Happy blogging and cake baking!

Baby Cakes

My first attempt at this kind of cake and using Styrofoam! I think it turned out rather well !

Take a look!

I didn't do the flowers as I decided this cake two days before it was due and I didn't have the umbrella or bonnet either but improvisation can still create a wonderful work of art!
